Ear Pinning (Otoplasty)

Protruding ears frequently cause psychological problems in young children, despite efforts to camouflage them with longer hair styles.

Incisions are made on the skin at the back of the ear so they are not seen. Portions of cartilage are removed and the remainer remolded as necessary to achieve the desired contour.

Since both ears are rarely alike, ideal symmetry is not always possible. The previously mentioned risks of infection and bleeding are very unusual.
