Your procedure will be performed in our AAAHC-accredited surgery center in Upland, typically under general anesthesia. A small incision is made near the edge of the dark skin surrounding the nipple (areola) or in another discreet location. There are multiple surgical procedures available to help men reduce the size of their breasts. These options include liposuction and glandular tissue abatement, both of which have demonstrated efficacy in male breast reduction. However, the removal of excess breast glandular tissue has proven to be the most comprehensive solution.
If you have true gynecomastia, glandular breast tissue is removed through surgical excision, while excess fat is removed via liposuction. In severe cases, where significant breast growth or excess skin is present, additional contouring may be necessary. Male breast reduction surgery is typically conducted as an outpatient procedure with an approximate duration of one hour, although this may vary in some instances. It's crucial to be aware of the potential risks associated with this surgery, including swelling, scarring, bleeding, mild discomfort, and the risk of infection.
