Soft Curves, Fresh Energy
Motiva Preservé breast augmentation gives you a gentle boost in volume while preserving your natural breast tissue. At Face N Body in Upland, we start every treatment plan by focusing on your body, your goals, and the look you want.

Meet the Modern Approach
Motiva Preservé is a breast augmentation method that uses special tools to create space for the implant while protecting your natural breast tissue. This technique can be combined with FDA-approved Motiva implants to give natural-looking results through a small incision, if you are a good candidate.
Traditional breast augmentation makes space for the implant by cutting through tissue. Preservé uses a Channel Separator and an inflatable balloon to gently create a pocket above the chest muscle. This helps keep more of your natural breast structure and allows for natural movement.
Best suited to first-time patients seeking a natural-looking, moderate increase in breast volume.
Silicone breast implants are generally placed above the pectoral muscle using a technique designed to preserve more natural tissue.
Local anesthesia with sedation may be used, but your anesthesia plan will be customized for you and your procedure.
Motiva Preservé usually takes about an hour, depending on your surgical plan.
Most people need just a few days of social downtime. You’ll see more volume right away, and your breasts will gradually soften and settle over the next few months.
Results last a long time, but implants are not meant to last forever. The cost depends on the type of implant, anesthesia, facility, and how complex your surgery is.
A Little Room for More
Preservé breast augmentation is for people who want fuller breasts but still want a natural shape. It can help with:
Preservé is not right for every concern. If you have significant sagging, loose skin, low nipples, or need a complex revision, you may need a breast lift or traditional augmentation instead.

The Perks Are Pretty
Preservé creates space for an implant while protecting your natural tissue. Some possible benefits are:
These benefits are not guaranteed. Preservé is still a surgery, and risks include bleeding, infection, scarring, changes in nipple sensation, implant movement, rupture, capsular contracture, and possible reoperation.

Implant design involves more than size and profile. The FDA device description document for Motiva SmoothSilk Round and Round Ergonomix implants reports a controlled surface topography averaging four microns. Research in Nature Biomedical Engineering, titled “The surface topography of silicone breast implants mediates the foreign body response in mice, rabbits and humans,” found that surface architecture influenced inflammation and fibrosis. Four-micron implants produced the lowest inflammatory response among the tested surfaces.
This does not mean Motiva breast implants can prevent inflammation or capsular contracture. All implants cause a foreign body response. Establishment Labs continues to monitor safety and follow FDA requirements.
Related tissue-preservation research has appeared in Aesthetic Surgery Journal. The studied procedure and international Ergonomix2 implants are not identical to every United States Preservé case, a distinction addressed during informed consent.
Most candidates for Motiva Preservé are healthy adults who want their first breast augmentation and a moderate size increase. Whether you qualify depends on your tissue thickness, skin elasticity, breast position, medical history, and expectations.
You’ll need to be examined by a board-certified plastic surgeon first. Dr. Edward Park or Dr. Alex Cheah will help you decide if Preservé, traditional augmentation, fat transfer, or a breast lift is right for your goals.
Ready, Set, Gorgeous

Preservé creates space for the implant using a careful method that protects your natural tissue.
Most people feel some pressure, swelling, and mild to moderate soreness. Many can go back to desk work after a few days, but healing inside the body continues.
Bruising is usually hidden by clothing, but swelling and a higher implant position may be visible at first. Wearing front-opening clothes can make things easier in the first few days.
You can start walking soon after surgery. Wait to lift, push, pull, or do upper-body exercises until your surgeon says it’s safe. Doing too much too soon can cause swelling or affect healing.
You’ll notice more volume right away, but at first your breasts may look firm, swollen, or sit higher than expected. As your tissue relaxes, the implants will settle and soften. Most people see their final results in about three months, though changes can continue after that.
Motiva Preservé gives long-lasting results, but implants are not meant to last forever. Things like aging, pregnancy, weight changes, rupture, or capsular contracture may mean you need another surgery in the future. There’s no set rule for replacing implants every ten years. Regular ultrasound or MRI checks help monitor silicone implants.
The incision is usually placed in the crease under your breast. Scars may look pink or firm at first, but they fade over time. How your scars look depends on your genetics, skin tone, sun exposure, tension, and how you care for them. Be sure to follow Face N Body’s scar-care instructions.
The Right Fix for the Right Face
A fuller lower face can come from different sources, and there are different procedures that are better suited for different problems.
Motiva Preservé | Traditional Breast Augmentation | |
|---|---|---|
| Pocket creation | Channel Separator and inflatable balloon | Conventional surgical dissection |
| Placement | Usually above the muscle | Above or below the muscle |
| Muscle disruption | Designed to preserve chest muscles | Varies by technique |
| Size range | Best suited to restrained enhancement | Supports a broader range of sizes |
| Recovery | Potentially streamlined for suitable patients | Depends on placement and complexity |
| Best use | Selected primary augmentation patients | Wider range of anatomy and goals |
Neither option is universally better. Your body, preferred breast size, tissue quality, and priorities determine the safest treatment plan.

Motiva SmoothSilk Round and Round Ergonomix silicone implants are FDA-approved for breast augmentation in women 22 and older. The Preservé instruments are FDA-registered and listed. Preservé is a technique, not a separately approved implant.
Motiva’s flexible implants are made to feel and move naturally. How soft your breasts feel in the end depends on the implant size, placement, your own tissue, healing, and capsule formation. No surgeon can promise exactly how your breasts will feel.
The technique aims to protect your natural tissue and sensation, but any breast surgery can still cause temporary or permanent changes.
No. The technique and implant surface can affect how your tissue responds, but no breast augmentation can completely prevent capsular contracture.
Some patients can combine implants with fat transfer or a breast lift. Combining procedures will change the incisions, recovery time, and risks.
Many people can get back to light activities within a few days. You’ll need your surgeon’s approval before returning to exercise, lifting, or strenuous work.
